patience is a generosity;
and to recognize it, likewise, evidently.

to just wait is to give of yourself;
to take time is to give it as well.
people trip over compliments,
but skate smooth on complaints.
we’re so bad now, our own goodness is alien.

time has burned holes in our pockets;
so we’ve spent it on anything at all.
our lives have flashed before our eyes
on screens and the targets of our impulses.
one day we’ll look back and laugh, or very much not.
